Before sunrise, Robin’s wedding coordinator, Alisha Anderson, met Robin, her maid of honor, mother, and hair dresser at Camp Lucy to get a jump start on the day. The Surrey, England-inspired bridal cottage was the ideal hideaway as Robin transformed from a very dedicated business woman into a beautiful bride in a flawlessly fitted Casablanca wedding dress. As the sun peeked over the Texas Hill Country bluff, it was clear the day’s choice of décor could not have better complemented the summer ceremony and thoughtfully prepared seasonal brunch. Groom Andrew arrived perfectly suited in khaki, joined by his groomsmen looking seasonally appropriate in khaki slacks and crisp white dress shirts. The bridesmaids, summer chic in knee length khaki dresses, soon joined Robin in the bridal cottage for final touch ups.

Robin and Andrew wisely chose to beat the heat and take all of their photographs prior to the ceremony. For couples interested in new traditions, this is called “the first look.” There is still that moment of anticipation as the groom awaits his beautiful bride, but all is done prior to her walk down the aisle. As the wedding party escaped to Camp Lucy’s lush, green “great lawn” for group photographs, the vendors began arriving and, in no time at all, everything was ready for a truly unforgettable day.

Gleaming fruitwood chairs were arranged under the cool shade of the large oak trees and, at 9:30am, the hilltop gently hummed with the sound of bagpipes, welcoming the guests as they signed the couple’s photo album and gathered to enjoy fresh squeezed juice, bloody marys, and mimosas. At 10:30am, the bagpipe player made his way down the outdoor aisle to announce the commencement of the ceremony, which cued the string trio to begin playing for the seating of the family and wedding party. As the precious flower girls and handsome ring bearer bounced down the aisle, the trio played “Tupelo Honey” and the sound of the old French bell ringing in the chapel steeple announced the entrance of the bride. The short and sweet ceremony concluded just as luscious aromas drifted from the kitchen, luring the guests to the reception.

With banquet tables adorned with tasteful ivory linens and clever burlap runners, the Camp Lucy pavilion provided an open yet intimate setting for the wedding party and immediate family. Each place setting was personalized with glass jars filled with lemon drops and cups of assorted fruits. The bricked courtyard area provided additional seating for guests on fruitwood Chiavari chairs under khaki umbrella shaded tables. Royal Fig prepared a delectable menu featuring a variety of brunch items, including guest favorites French toast, eggs benedict, and miniature cinnamon buns.

Musicians Continental Graffiti announced to the guests for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Logan and played as the guests congratulated the glowing couple.

A classic convertible in candy apple red awaited the couple’s departure as guests lined the chapel sidewalk, and shimmering bon voyage bubbles floated into the brilliant summer sky.

Saturday, August 14th was a picture perfect summer wedding day at Camp Lucy, everything and more than we all had hoped for.
