WISHING YOU LOVE AND DOUBLE HAPPINESS

The heart, featured prominently in Camp Lucy’s logo and used as embellishment throughout our Texas Hill Country venue, did not spring from the mind of a modern graphic designer but, rather, from the hands of Vietnamese craftsmen many years ago. From the chapel tiles to the pavilion eaves, the heart symbol found on our antique French-Colonial buildings was incorporated as a symbol of love by the Catholic Vietnamese. The tiles on the chapel roof, which are incorporated throughout the venue, were made in Vietnam from Hanoi River mud. Each tile has the heart embossed in the tile but, if you look closely, you see the hearts are distinct; the tile makers each made their own clay mold with their personal interpretation of the heart. Often found partnered with the heart in the buildings is a symbol for “double happiness,” an interpretive relic of China’s influence in Vietnam.

On Valentine’s Day, and every day, Camp Lucy wishes you love and double happiness!

Camp Lucy was created with heart!
Wishing you love and double happiness today and every day.
